C.A.L.I.P.S.O.

(Choreographic Arts Lab for Immersive Publics & Spaces)

A home for creation and artistic influence, Chaillot supports artists and the major developments in the performing arts with an unwavering ambition: to imagine the forms of tomorrow and open dance to everyone.
In response to shifting cultural practices and the emergence of new languages, Chaillot asserts a vision firmly oriented towards the future: to make immersive technologies a driving force in the service of creation, transmission, and the relationship with audiences.

By developing projects at the crossroads of choreographic art and innovation, the institution pursues a rigorous and responsible approach to renewing artistic experiences, broadening access to culture, and strengthening dialogue between the stage, research, and new digital frontiers.

This ambition fully aligns with the spirit of France 2030, the national investment plan designed to prepare France for the major challenges of tomorrow by supporting innovation, technological transformation and sectors of excellence. By helping to bring forth new artistic formats and new models of dissemination, Chaillot reaffirms its role as a cultural pioneer, championing a vibrant, accessible, forward-looking creative landscape— both in France and internationally.

Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse is launching an unprecedented and ambitious digital initiative in France, with the aim of becoming a leading hub for immersive and virtual reality creation.

Through its C.A.L.I.P.S.O. project (Choreographic Arts Lab for Immersive Publics & Spaces), developed in collaboration with Lucid Realities, Unframed Collection, TMNlab and Université Paris 8, Chaillot seeks to build a support ecosystem for artists exploring the connections between dance and new technologies. Bringing together artists, researchers and technological innovators, the programme examines how digital tools can transform choreographic creation, stage performance and the relationship with audiences.

The ambition is to place these technologies at the service of choreographic creation, in order to renew the relationship with audiences and explore unprecedented forms of experience on stage as well as within immersive spaces.
